Our main source of research was watching other opening clips of thrillers and blogging our analysis of them. This research was useful as it gave us ideas for plots.
Initially we had made a questionnaire, the answers of which would help us decide which of our thriller openings would be the most popular with the public. However due to our lack of time management at the beginning of our project - we did not have the time to carry out our questionnaire.
To choose the plot we simply looked at the difficulties that each plot would cause and picked the easiest/safest option. We then edited this plot so it was up to standard.
One of the features that we added in was the song 'Pop goes the weasel' which we got the idea from one of the other groups in our class. They are using 'Three blind mice' which reminded us that using children’s nursery rhymes are often related to tense/scary moment to many people.
We also looked at the previous year 12's thriller beginnings; this gave us ideas on the quality of the filming and editing. It also made us think about common mistakes made by beginners.
